Tips To Improve Your Child’s Handwriting

Handwriting skills are developmental activity and fun, in addition to it ,it is important and foremost for kids. Handwriting helps the kids to open and express themselves to the world. It makes communication easy to parents, teachers and other family member and outsider too. Handwriting helps them develop their understanding skill ,legibility, pencil grasp, and working on problem areas are all important things that need to be addressed. It makes them to complete their notes fast.

Makes Practicing Fun

Handwriting practicing makes their work fun and enjoyable moments for each and everyone. To gain their interest towards the handwriting give them colored pencils of different designs which attract them and add rainbow coloured special pencils, so that they will have interest to do it.. Handwriting doesn’t mean copies , try giving them simple games, word puzzles, anagrams, a theme and ask the child to brainstorm lists. A good environment and place is also a important thing need to be addressed.

Encouraging Drawing And Puzzle Games

 Though the learning and development techniques of handwriting has changed over the years from old to modern.  But still old-fashioned writing is very adaptative and encouragement to a child. It is an important skill and developmental skill that students need to learn to do their assignments and homework. Good handwriting ensures better scores in exams as the answers are more legible .Further, In order to develop the physical requirements of writing, parents should encourage drawing and puzzle games in the form of handwriting. Teaching them to hold a pencil correctly, posture, control, dexterity, coordination — the more time your child spends manipulating objects, the better.

 



Pinpoint The Problem

 The problem arising to the child should be pin point and work on it. Before you start f a plan to improve your child’s handwriting, find out what it is that is causing them to write badly. It could be a whole list starting with the improper posture of sitting, improper holding of the pencil, poor hand-to eye-co-ordination or medical problems. Common handwriting problems lie in four main areas: letter formation, sizing, spaces between words, and line-alignment.

The Right Tools

 Before starting the practice of handwriting the parents need to check if the child is using right tool. See that ,If your child's struggling with a regular pencil, try a smaller or shorter, kid-sized one. Ensure he has a good eraser handy so he's not afraid of making mistakes.

Writing Outside the Box

See that the child is writing inside the lines. Sometimes what happens the child tend to forget and write as it wants and it becomes untidy. Ask the kids to be seated in proper position so that they are able to move freely . This will enable them to write inside the box.. Writing should always be practised in a sitting position on a proper study table
